Umm, so truthfully I really never write reviews. Granted, I am always tinkering and testing new gear, it's rare that a product impresses me enough right from the beginning, to justify a review so soon.
HOWEVER, this is one of those rare occurrences...
I own a Mach 1 as well as a Mach 30, both great bows and frankly, they're lightweight of course...easy to draw, and pretty darn quiet if you ask me. I've never been concerned about how 'loud' they are at the shot or being able to pull back slowly enough when an animal is in front of me.
I initially bought a set of TAP draw stops for both PSE bows that I own and truly felt the difference at full draw, the back wall feeling incredibly solid and also wider than the stock stops from PSE. Simply upgrade, sure, but now TAP had my attention.
I then bought a string stop for my Mach 30, thinking "hey, the bow's not loud, but if it somehow made it even quieter...worth it. I didn't think to take before and after videos of my shooting the bow, to see if I could detect a difference in sound at the shot. However, immediately I could tell it was both quieter and what little hand shock/feedback I had before, also seemed reduced. I honestly couldn't believe it and was skeptical, thinking maybe it's a placebo effect...Again, the 30 wasn't a loud bow to begin with and I could STILL tell the difference.
Thus, I went ahead and ordered a string stop for the Mach1 as well as the titanium cable rollers and rod....again, instantly noticing how much quieter it was (and this time, I DID take before and after videos of bow noise before/after installing the TAP string stop). and the Mach 1 was even smoother to draw with the new rod and rollers. It just glides quietly back along the titanium rod and in my opinion, was money well spent!!
In short, I highly advocate that you at least try the string stop, as it's an easy install and of course, changes nothing about your setup. Lastly, I'm going to be buying another string stop and cable rod/rollers for my wife's Mission MXR.
Thank you, Mr. Shaffer, for having helpful install videos and a no-nonsense approach to your company. Keep making great products!
